Jack and Lydia lived in Shaunessy, Alberta for two years after their marriage and then moved to Black Diamond, Alberta. Jack worked for Royalite Oil Company until 1947. When oil was discovered in the Leduc, Alberta area, he transferred to Imperial Oil Company. The family then moved to Devon, Alberta. In 1968, Jack retired and he and Lydia moved to Calgary, Alberta.
