- HISTORY: Dunklin (p.71) says "Abraham Scruggs (ref 1.4.3.3.4) ... had issue by his first wife only, a son named James Vallendingham, who married Harriet Frank, of Warsaw, Kentucky."

(INote: living with the family is John A. Vallandingham, 21, b in Missouri, also a physician.)
CENSUS 1865 (Kansas): James Scruggs, 40 (should be 35), b in Kentucky, living with wife:Harriet30, and children:Abe12, Linna10 Scruggs. (Note: Joseph Scruggs, 13, was also living with the family. But he does not appear on other censuses as a son of the family. So it is not clear who his parents are.)
