- HISTORY: Dunklin (p.71) says that ABRAHAM SCRUGGS (reference I.4.3.3.4), "son of Thomas Scruggs, Jr., by his wife Judith Buford, married twice; first, Elizabeth Scruggs, daughter of his uncle, William Scruggs, and at Elizabeth's death he married Frances Scruggs Ritchie, the widow of James Ritchie and a sister of his first wife. He was a member of the House of Representatives from Gallatin County, Kentucky, in 1849. He had issue by his first wife only, a son named James Vallendingham, who married Harriet Frank, of Warsaw, Kentucky, by whom he had issue, a son named Abraham, and a daughter."
