    Effie Reeder married John WIlliam Hovis in 1886. Together they had 4 children: Wm Leroy, Pearl M., Alfred, and Wilbur. She and John seemingly divorced before 1900. The 1900 census lists John as "Wd" (which probably means "Divorced"). She was married to William Hiland by 1900 but their census record has not been found.

    In 1910, she41 and William36 Hiland have 2 of her other children (Leroy22 and Alfred17 Hovis) living with them, along with 2 new children: Marie 8 and Georgie 4 Hiland.
    In 1920, she51 and William46 Hiland have 2 children living with them: Cecil16 and George14 Hiland. Cecil was not on the 1910 census.
