(Her father, Clinton P Hovis, was already in Canada. The census was done April 7, 1930. May 30, 1930, she came to Canada. There is no record of that border crossing, but it is mentioned on the Border Crossing when she returned to the US (Feb.17, 1938). She returned by herself and referenced her friend Mrs Pat Buckley in Sweetgrass, Montana. She was 24 and still single at that time.
