    • OBITUARY NOTES: "He is survived by his wife, Penny; daughters, Beth Hovis Burrows and Catherine Hovis; son-in-law, Mark Burrows and grandchildren, Scott and Margaret Burrows. He is also survived by his beloved aunt, Harriett Donovan; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Lu-ann Hovis, and their families."

      MILITARY NOTES: "Bob served his country for 30 years as an officer in the Medical Service Corp of the United States Navy. He was a Vietnam veteran and also served at duty stations in Guam, California, Illinois, Okinawa, and Washington, DC. After retiring in 1989, he and Penny settled in the Shenandoah Valley in 2002... . Bob will be honored with a committal of ashes, in Arlington National Cemetery."
