    • This birth date is based on 1860 census when he was 5 years old. 1870 census and Find-a-grave site indicate he wa born in 1863. And the marriage certificate in 1889 says that Joseph was 23 when he got married. That means he was born in 1866. The obituary says he came to Montana with hsi family when he was 12. His father's obituary says he came to Montana in 1878. Therefore, we are saying that Joseph S was born about 1865, rather than ealier.
