    • HISTORY: Dunklin (p. 25) says that RICHARD SCRUGGS (reference I.3), "son of Henry Scruggs by his wife Anne Grose, married Martha, by whom he had issue in New Kent County, Virginia":
      1. Martha, bom April 4, 1718.
      2. Richard, born January 10, 1720.
      3. Drury, born February i, 1725.
      4. Thomas, born July 30, baptised 7ber, 1729.
      5. Jesse, born July 23, 1736.
      6. Mary, born February 12, 1738.
      These children are not in this database at this time, except for Richard, b.1720.
      "Richard Scruggs was granted two hundred and thirty acres in Goochland County, Virginia, in 1755, which grant had been previously owned by Drury Scruggs, who, failing to make the necessary improvements, forfeited same." (Dunklin, p.25)
